HeFAD: Ughelli Council Chairman Approves Health Post In Otokutu Market

In line with the Delta state government's policy on Health For All Deltans (HeFAD), The Ughelli South Local Government Council Chairman Dr. Richard Kofi, has approved a convenient accommodation for Health Post in the new Otokutu market, Ughelli.



 Dr. Kofi made this known yesterday  when a team from the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, led by Dr. Isioma Okobah, paid him an advocacy visit to initiate the new Otokutu Market Health Post.
According to Dr. Okobah, The scheme which is a proactive effort by the Okowa administration to maintain a healthy Delta state, would bring health care to the door step of the market buyers and sellers of the Otokutu market as there would be a functional Health Post in the market area in order for the market buyers and sellers to gain easy access to medical services.

Emphasizing on the numerous benefits the market health post would provide, Dr. Okobah said services such as Immunization, Malaria treatments, Net distribution, Antenatal and Post natal care, Treatment of minor ailments, Health Education and other primary health care services would be rendered.

She also disclosed the arrangements to set up three pilot phases in each of the senatorial districts in the state as the Otokotu market ughelli would serve as the market health post for Delta Central Senatorial district.

The Ughelli South Council Chairman commended the effort of the agency, describing the Market Health Post scheme as another laudable step by the Okowa administration in advancing health care to Deltans, through the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency.

Hon. Kofi further conducted the team round the market assuring the agency that the Health Post would commence services in no distant time.
