Delta Wins Hosting Rights For 62nd NCH 2019

KANO-The minister for Health Prof. Issac Adewole, has stated that Delta state would host the next 62nd National Council on Health (NCH) 2019.


The minister stated this, at the just concluded 61st NCH, held in the coronation Hall, Kano State Government House, Kano, after Delta state had won the hosting right.

The conference which had the theme "The Second National Strategic Health Development Plan: A Road Map For Achieving Universal Health Coverage”, was declared open by the Executive Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje(OFR).


The minister for Health and the Minister of State for Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire talked about "Better Health for all through Revitalized Primary Health Care Service Delivery, Effective Implementation Strategies for National Strategic Health Development Plan II and way forward".

Predictable financing and risk protection for health were also discussed during the conference, respectively.

The four-day conference attracted health commissioners from the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT,   Permanent Secretaries, State Primary Health Care Development Executive Directors, Development partners, among others.

The Delta State team led by the honorable commissioner for health Dr. Mordi Ononye had the chairman Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Isioma Okobah as well as the Director General, Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Ben Nkechika.
