As Preparations for the 2019 General Elections continue to gather steam, A group in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, ‘Okowa Legacy Group’, has called on all PDP members and other Deltans to re-elect governor Ifeanyi Okowa back to office come 2019.
The group, led by its President- General, Dr. Isioma Okobah, made the call recently at a Town Hall meeting at Igbodo in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state.
Dr. Okobah who was ably represented by The Program coordinator Chief Agwaife (The okelegwe of Igbodo), said Okowa's re-election would ensure continuity in the positive affairs of the state and in order to institutionalise his SMART agenda.
Dr. Okobah noted that Okowa had done credibly well, especially in the areas of Road construction, Agriculture, among others.
She remarked that the group was delighted with the quality of development projects so far carried out by the Okowa administration and called for its sustenance.
The President-General of the Okowa Legacy Group, further listed other achievements of the Okowa administration to include; Job Creation, Youth Empowerment, Infrastructural Development, Human Capacity Building, Health For All Deltans, building ‘human’ bridges that reduced suspicion between one tribe and another, Strengthening and Revitalising the Primary Health Care Centers, among others.
‘’Our decision was based on careful analysis of the comparable achievements of Governor Okowa.
We are genuinely committed to his re-election bid and we are ready to deliver Delta in the next election to Okowa and the PDP. Another political group known as 'Uche Bulu-Ofu', has accepted to work with this Okowa Legacy Group to actualize the continuity of the Okowa administration. Therefore, I encourage all Our members to get their PVCs, campaign vigorously and enlighten the electorate on why they should return Okowa.” Okobah maintained.
She also urged Deltans to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities, continue to live in peace, while tolerating one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliation.
It would be recalled, that the 'Okowa Legacy Group' galvanized massive support for Okowa during the 2015 general elections.
