Delta State Comes Top In Primary Health Services



Delta state has been adjudged the best performing state in routine immunization in Nigeria.

 The declaration was made in Abuja at the just concluded First Quarterly Review Meeting of States Primary Health Care Development Agencies across the country organized by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency.

Delta state was pronounced the best performing state in immunization after heads of the various States Primary Health Care Development Agencies gave their quarterly performance reports at the meeting.

The chairman of the assessment committee and chairman National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Said the assessment was based on the number of variables including Routine iImmunization and Quality Assurance scale. He commended the chairman of Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Isioma Okobah for stepping up routine immunization exercise in Delta State.
 In her presentation, Dr. Okobah attributed the huge success of the routine immunization to the support given to it by the state Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa.

She disclosed that in pursuit of the Health For All policy of the state government, governor Okowa had provided the enabling environment and financial support for routine immunization and all primary health care services in the state in line with the SMART agenda of his administration.

 Okobah commended all the health workers and council chairmen, for the success so far recorded and urged them not to relent.

She also socilicited the support of all stake holders, in achieving primary health care under one roof.
