Actor: Nollywood Safe In Delta under Okowa


 A Delta-born Nollywood  star and social mobilizer, Dave Ogbeni, has called on all Deltans to throw their weights behind the Delta state Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa.
 The actor made the call shortly after receiving an award of excellence from the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Delta state chapter, as part of activities of their Award and Gala night held in Asaba the state capital.
 According to the foremost Nollywood star and former president National Association of Delta State Students (UNIBEN Chapter), the Nollywood industry in Asaba, was safe under the Okowa administration.
 He described governor Okowa as a lover of entertainment adding that the governor had created an enabling environment for Nollywood to strive, such as Accessibility to choice locations for contemporary and epic movies production, proximity, eradication of traffic gridlock through construction of Road network thereby easing movement of location buses conveying cast and crew.
 Ogbeni also commended the governor for the peace and security in the Asaba metropolis and Delta state in general, which had made Asaba the hub of Nollywood in Nigeria.
 In his words " I am delighted today to receive this award of excellence. I give all the glory to God and I say thanks to the Actors Guild of Nigeria Delta state chapter for recognising me with this award. Pls permit me also to commend my state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, because he has been a miracle governor. He has made the Nollywood industry in Asaba to record huge success in all ramifications through his SMART agenda. Words are not enough to express my profound appreciation to him. Indeed the nollwood industry in Asaba is in safe hands under Okowa . Therefore, I urge all to rally round him especially for his 2019 re-election" he said.
 Earlier, the chairman, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Delta state chapter, Mr. Alex Iduh, stated that the award presentation to Dave Ogbeni, was necessary following his contributions towards the growth and development of Nollywood in Delta state. He said the award was to encourage him to continue in making Deltans proud in the movie industry urging the awardee not to relent in the film industry.
