EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH THE DELTA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ASPIRANT (ANIOCHA NORTH CONSTITUENCY) Mr. BAZIM SALLY BIOSE
Q. How long have you been in Aniocha North PDP?
A. I have been active in Aniocha North PDP for a long time and I was part of the process in producing the current House of Assembly representative. I have always longed to represent my people in politics. Before now I had wanted to run for the House of Representative Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency. After due consultation from PDP leaders and members, I decided to start from the State House of Assembly.
Q. What is your relationship with Engr. Emeka Nwaobi (Member Representing Aniocha North)
A. I and the current House of Assembly member representing Aniocha North constituency are both from Issele-Uku, we are very close, and have known each other for over 25 years. In fact we schooled together in Enugu. He was in ESUT while myself I was schooling in IMT. We have never had any cause to disagree on anything even now. Its all about representing my people and not a selfish thing. I am particularly very dissatisfied with the representation we are getting in Aniocha North Constituency at the moment and as such my interest to run for the office of the House of Assembly. We all know the problem of electricity and pipe bore water are the basic things our people need that you can attract as a lawmaker. We cannot afford to play politics with basic human needs. We should be advancing in development at this point in time and not making attempt to solving basic problem. Aniocha North has the potential of attracting advance/digital development for our people that will create employment for our youth.
Q. There are rumours that you are responsible for the bad publicity that the current House of Assembly member is getting. How true is this?
A. Please kindly disregard any information making rounds that I am sponsoring propaganda against anybody. It will be very bad and myopic of me to engage in such especially at a moment like this in Aniocha North PDP. I am a noble man and anyone that has known me very well knows that I respect everyone both young and old. My attention was drawn to an online facebook group ANIOMA VOICE where various publications were made about me and my aspirations while a lot of negative publications against the House of Assembly Member. Sometime last week, the rhythm of the publication changed in favour of the member representing Aniocha North in the Delta State House of Assembly. I really don’t let issues like that bother me, because I am focused on achieving my goal. I have never in any time asked anyone close to me or my campaign team to engage in any form of negative publication. If any one does so, they do that out of their own will and volition. This is the first time I am talking to the Press and I am always being guided by issues and not campaign of calumny.
Q. What do you have to say about the crisis in Aniocha North PDP
A. I really do not like the idea of disunity in the party. It is not good for us as a party. I know in a short while aggrieved factions will come to peace and will help the party move forward. I want to use this medium to appeal to all involved in the crisis to sheath their swords now as we will need it when we go for the general elections.
Q. Why do you want to contest for the DTHA, are you being sponsored by anyone?
A. I have heard from various individuals and I have equally read online where some people were making insinuations that I was picked by an Aniocha North PDP leader to challenge the current House of Assembly member in the forth coming 2019 elections. For whatever reasons they may have made such assertions, I was not in any way disturbed because I know that some politicians always use such to try and discredit their opponents in the eyes of the people. The truth be told, I am contesting to represent the people of Aniocha North in the Delta State House of Assembly because of the love I have for my people and I know what they need. Not distributing bags of rice and sharing their Constituency money on the streets. I have seen the problems my people are passing through and I have the will to address them. I am enjoying the support of notable leaders of the party and this is a rare blessing that makes it look as if I was handpicked and I am also enjoying the support of my people.
Q. What plans do you have for your people
A. As a petty project I am starting a foundation in Aniocha North as we speak now. I want to focus on enhancing the quality of education of primary and secondary schools. The details will be revealed when the foundation is launched. I am also looking at providing good health care for our aged parents in Aniocha North. I have a lot to give to the community that has shown me so much affection while I was growing up in Issele-uku. We really deserve better deal than what we are getting now. I want my people to enjoy what we enjoy what other bubbling local government are getting. Here in Aniocha North, we have what it takes to transform the local government into a hub that will attract massive development from both government and private organisations. We only need someone to champion the cause, which I am ready to do.
