AGBOR: OWAH FAMILY DECLARES SON MISSING

The family of Owah in Agbor, Delta State has declared 24 years old Sunday Owah, the only son of their late brother, High Chief Priest Fidelis Owah missing.

In an interview with journalists, the leader of Owah family, Pa. Ignatius Owah who lamented Sunday’s disappearance, said he got missing after he was beaten mercilessly for his refusal to take over the role of his late father as a chief priest. According to him, “my late brother, Fidelis Owah before his death was a High Chief Priest and our custom demands that his son, Sunday will succeed him as it is hereditary. All efforts we made to bring him back from Lagos after the death of his father to assume the Chief priest position failed as he (Sunday) has refused to serve our deities because of his Christian faith. Ever since the youths of our community gave him the beating of his life because of his refusal, Sunday has  on recovery fled and is nowhere to be found”.
Pa. Owah stated that the Owah family are in confusion over Sunday’s disappearance as the penalty for his refusal is death, saying that no one knows if he is still alive. He further disclosed that calamity is already befalling their community and a soothsayer consulted revealed that Sunday’s refusal to take over the position of his late father as the Chief Priest is the cause, demanding that Sunday be fished out to appease the gods of the land that are angry. He called on members of the public who have information on Sunday’s whereabouts to reach the Owah family for them to know that he is still alive.
Elders of the Community have assured to give a handsome reward to whoever will give them tip off on the whereabouts of Owah.
